Project Description

3D Hydration Hydraconcept

  • Circulation of water optimized throughout all layers of the skin, up to the surface
  • It’s Hyaluronic acid booster, increases Chondroitin sulfate &  the NMF by degrading Filaggrin

Barrier reinforced in 24 hours

  • Limits water loss
  • A barrier that retains water through its essential lipids
  • Skin masters its own hydration reserves

Softer, smoother skin in 28 days

  • Normalized desquamation
  • Fine lines are smoothed away, visible results

Circulation, water reserves

• Hyaluronic Acid (HA)

Acts like a dermal and epidermal sponge. It plumps the skin from the inside. AQUAXYLTM increases HA production in keratinocytes and fibroblasts (AQUAXYLTM used of 0.01% and 0.1%, respectively).

• The NMF*

Acts like a sponge in the corneal layer and captures water at the surface.
It is obtained by degrading Filaggrin, via the action of Caspase 14 enzyme (CASP 14). AQUAXYLTM increases the genetic expression of Caspase 14.

(*Natural Moisturizing Factor)

• Tight Junctions

Ensures cohesion between the keratinocytes and limit water loss.

They are partially formed by Claudin (CLDN) protein family, among others. The genetic expression of CLDN is increased in the presence of AQUAXYLTM.

• Aquaporin 3 (AQP3)

They are membrane channels allowing water and glycerol to be transported through the cells.

The genetic expression of AQP3 is increased in the presence of AQUAXYLTM.
AQP3 synthesis is also increased within keratinocytes in the presence of AQUAXYLTM.

Reinforcing barrier effect

• Synthesis of key lipids

Cholesterol is one of the main components of the intercellular cement. AQUAXYLTM boosts the genetic expression of the enzyme indispensable to its synthesis (HMGCR*).

* 3-hydroxy – 3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase

• Synthesis of key proteins

AQUAXYLTM enables increased expression of genes coding for:
– Keratin 17 (KRT17): reinforces the barrier by increasing cell binding.
– Kallikreins 5 & 7 (KLK 5&7): enzymes which take part in creating the corneal envelope and in regulating its desquamation.
– Loricrin (LOR): principal protein making up the corneal layer.

• Better organization of key proteins

– AQUAXYLTM enables increased expression of genes coding for Transglutaminase 1 & 5 (TGM 1 & 5) assembling the proteins among them during formation of the corneal layer.
